‘Irish Hare’ Handprinted Linocut in Grey-Brown
$22.5
$42.98
Description An Irish hare, pensive and listening, in a soft grey-brown. The Irish word for hare is Giorria which originally meant ‘little wild one’. The ancient Irish regarded it as sacred and mystical, connected to the otherworld and prohibited to eat. This is a handprinted original linocut, carved out of Japanese vinyl. Printed on heavy off-white paper on a small press in my garden studio. This wildlife art print would make the ideal gift for people who care about nature, love the great outdoors, walkers, birdwatchers. It works well as a pair with ‘Bill’ my curlew print. • Sheet size 280 x 190mm • Printed on 250gm Southbank Smooth paper • One colour grey-brown • Open edition • Signed • Unframed and unmounted Image copyright Joanna Martin 2025
