Description Come and learn the basic principles of linocut printmaking in my studio in County Down. I will guide you through the steps of producing a single colour print. You will leave with a small edition of prints and your lino block to use again. Prior to the workshop think about the image you would like to create, and ideally bring a black & white design at A6 size (152x100mm), which will be the size of the lino block. Alternatively bring reference photographs to work from. Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting inky or an apron. No printmaking experience is required. The workshop will run from 9.30 – 1.00pm and I will provide tea, coffee, cake, biscuits. Please let me know if you have any dietary requirements. All materials supplied. Maximum 6 guests, minimum 4. If you are already a group of 4-6 then get in touch to arrange a bespoke date. What to expect: • An introduction to linocut prints – different approaches • Cutting tools – using them safely & mark making • Looking at your images & adapting them for lino printing • Transferring your design onto the lino block • Learning how to carve the lino • How to roll out ink & apply it • Printing options – hand burnishing or using a press • You will take home your lino block & a small edition of prints Cancellation Policy: Workshops are generally non refundable but if I am able to fill the space I will refund where possible.
